Ben Harrison Place
Osteopath
I earned a Master’s degree in Osteopathic Medicine with distinction from Plymouth Marjon University, where I gained experience treating a variety of challenging health issues. Whether acute or chronic, each person’s experience of pain is unique. By taking an individualised approach, I believe osteopathy is a fantastic way to assess, diagnose and holistically treat the patient’s specific condition. I work closely with each person to implement a treatment and rehab plan that meets their needs.
Bens Expertise
As a practitioner, I take a keen interest in continually developing my osteopathic skills and staying up to date with the latest scientific research on musculoskeletal health and neuroscience. I have a personal interest in spinal health, biomechanics and the effects of stress on the body. Pain can trigger fear-avoidance behaviours that hinder recovery, but by applying manual techniques we can desensitize painful tissues and help the body respond appropriately.
About Ben
My journey to becoming an osteopath began when living in Hong Kong where I was introduced to Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches to manual therapy. I returned to the UK inspired to learn an evidence-based practice to help others.
Movement and fitness are a big part of my life, so in my free time, you’ll often find me at the gym, in a yoga studio, or practising martial arts.
