What is Shoulder Pain?

The shoulder is the body’s most mobile joint, allowing a wide range of movement – but when something goes wrong, it can cause pain, limit mobility, and make daily activities frustrating. Shoulder pain can be a dull ache, or it can be sharp, stabbing pain and it can be felt in different areas. It can be near the neck, at the edge of the shoulder and top of the arm, or at the back, around the shoulder blade. Commonly, people find pain starts with certain movements, such as rotating or raising the shoulder – like when you’re trying to put on a jacket. Because the shoulder is complex, unlocking the cause of pain requires an experienced practitioner.

Our expert team of practitioners have an in-depth understanding of the shoulder’s anatomy and function, and how it relates to other parts of the body. We assess not only the joint itself, but also any connected areas that may be contributing to your pain. Your individualised treatment plan will incorporate hands-on treatments to ease pain, restore mobility, and improve strength, along with practical advice for managing your symptoms at home. Our aim is to help you move freely and confidently again, without shoulder pain holding you back.
