Simon Barnard
Senior Osteopath
Simon studied Human Biology at Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brookes), earning a BSc (Hons), before training in Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy, qualifying in 1987.
He moved to Easingwold in 1988, establishing Todd House Clinic, where he has been practicing ever since. Simon has also been part of the Good Health Centre team since 2008. He served as a senior lecturer and clinic tutor in Osteopathy at Leeds Beckett University until the course closed in 2017, and in 2012 he earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Clinical Education (PGCACE).
Simon has contributed to the profession in a variety of ways, including as Regional Coordinator for the North East during the transition from Voluntary Regulation to Statutory Self-Regulation following the Osteopaths Act of 1993. He continues to support aspiring osteopaths as a Regional Osteopathic Careers Officer (ROCO) and is happy to give talks on osteopathy.
A recognised provider with most health insurers, Simon is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. He maintains excellent working relationships with local GPs and consultants and will provide referral letters when appropriate.
